Reindeers are deers that live up on the Arctic tundras. They have thick coats that keep them warm. Locals rely on the reindeer or caribou for food, warmth (skin) and structure. They eat plants and live in herds. They travel south during the winter months to warmer plains and return to there northern homes during the spring and summer. Reindeers are popular due to the fact that Santa Claus uses reindeer to pull there sled. The other thing is that the male Caribou loses there Antlers during the winter and grow back during the spring and the females keep there antlers all year long.
