The Monk Parakeet is a introduced bird in the United States. Originally found from Australia, it is believed that it was accidentally released into by the wild or escaped its owner. Now there is a stable population of Monk Parakeets in different parts of the United States. It eats seeds from variety of plants and makes nests that can hold two to three generations of a single family. This is the only U.S. parakeet in the country.
